Why do You Call Yourself the Pollinatrix?

I have had a special relationship with honeybees since childhood, and when I went through a phase of exploring Native American spirituality in my early 20s, I began to work with them as a totem and look at their symbolic meaning in my life. In the past three years, I've connected with other pollinators as well, especially hummingbirds, hummingbird hawk moths, and bats.

Metaphorically, being a pollinator is about delving into the “flower” of a research area or a person's story to extract the nectar. It's about finding fertile substance and sharing it with others to bring new flowers to life. It's about listening and sharing, synergy and synthesis, inspiring and being inspired. I enjoy connecting people and ideas, and sometimes what synthesizes out of that is a strange new hybrid, whether that takes the form of a collage, an essay, or a community project.
